Three labourers have died after inhaling toxic gas in a septic tank at Natun Bazar village under Companiganj upazilla in Noakhali.
The deceased are Md Babul 30, Md Rafique,35, and Md Jafar Ullah 35.
Quoting locals, Companiganj police station OC Sajidur Rahman Sajid said four labourers entered into a safety tank at the house of Saudi expatriate Md Mohsin to clean the tank on Monday morning.
He said: “They started screaming after few minutes. Hearing the scream, locals and the house owner informed Companiganj Fire Service station.
“Fire fighters rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies of Babul, Rafique and Zafar.”
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Noakhali 250-bed Hospital for autopsy.
A case was filed with the police in this connection.
