Two people have been killed and two others injured in a road accident at Srirampur on the Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway under Shailkupa upazila of the district.
Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Shailkupa police station MA Hasem Khan said the accident occurred when a covered van hit a standing truck from behind in the area at about 4am on Monday, leaving two people dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured were sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital.
