Two persons have been killed and 10 others injured when a passengers’ bus collided head-on with a human hauler in Farhadpur area on the Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj Highway under Godagari upazila of the district.
The deceased were identified as Anarul Islam, 35, son of Moslem Ali, and Delwar Hossain, 40, son of Abdur Rahman. Both were the residents of Anupamnagar village under the same upazila, police and hospital sources said, reports BSS.
SM Abu Farhad Khan, officer-in-charge of Godagari police station, said the accident took place when the Chapainawabganj-bound bus hit the human hauler in the area around 6am on Thursday, leaving one passenger of the human hauler dead on the spot and another critically injured.
The wounded passenger succumbed to his injuries on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Besides, ten passengers of the bus also sustained injuries as it skidded off the road and fell into a roadside ditch due to the accident, the OC said.
Two of the injured were rushed to RMCH while the others were admitted to local Upazila Health Complex and private clinics. However, their identities could not be known immediately.
An unnatural death (UD) case was filed with the police station and the ill-fated bus was rescued.
