Railway authority and the district administration jointly started a drive to evict the illegal establishments from both sides of Barobazaar Railway Station in Kaliganj upazila yesterday.
Railway Western Region and Divisional State Officer Mostak Ahmed and district Administration Assistant Commissioner (SA branch) Uttam Kumar Roy led the drive.
Uttam Kumar said land grabbers built illegal shops, houses and set up fish markets on the railway truck. Due to the illegal establishments people in the area had to face several problems including train and road accidents.
