Members of Rapid Action Battalion have rescued a girl from a brothel in Jessore Saturday, five years after her abduction from Bagerhat.
Following a complaint filed by the parents of the victim, RAB 6 members on Saturday night conducted a drive in the red-light zone and rescued the girl, said RAB Company Commander Squadron Leader Kausar Hossain.
Meanwhile, the law enforcers detained the area's night guard Abul Kashem, his wife Rabeya Khatun and their associate Hira for allegedly abducting girl and forcing her into sexual slavery.
The RAB official said: “The girl was abducted from Bagerhat's Mogla area five years ago while returning home from school.
“Abul's wife Rabeya and one Anuj feed the girl sedatives and brought her to Jessore. They forced her into prostitution. She tried to flee from the place several times but failed.”
She has been handed over to her parents, said RAB members.
