The authorities of Bogra Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College have closed the institution for an indefinite period Wednesday, following a factional clash between two groups of Chhatra League.
The academic committee took the decision after an emergency meeting around 11am Wednesday.
The residential students were ordered to leave the dormitory by 4pm, said college Principal Professor AKM Ahsan Habib.
Witnesses said at least seven students were injured in the hour-long clash between the two rival groups starting around 10:30pm Tuesday over establishing supremacy in a canteen of students' hostel.
Professor AKM Ahsan Habib said all classes and examinations have been suspended for an indefinite period to prevent further untoward incidents.
