Three people have been killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Tangail.
The deceased are Lebu Khan, 50, son of Late Momrez Khan of Kakraid village, Yousuf, 26, son of Habibur Rahman of Dubail village and Md Galib, 18, son of Md Mozibor Rahman of Gazipur.
Madhupur OC Shafikul Islam said: “An unknown vehicle knocked down an autorickshaw in Roktipara area around 9pm Saturday, killing autorickshaw driver Lebu on the spot and injuring three others.”
The injured have been rushed to Madhupur Health Complex.
In another accident, two cousin were killed as a Dhaka-bound covered van knocked down their motorcycle at Karatipara area on Dhaka-Tangial highway around 9:30pm.
Gorai highway police station OC Humayun Kabir said police seized the covered van but the driver managed to flee the scene.
