PM: Had a positive discussion on Teesta with Modi

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said she discussed on Teesta water sharing agreement with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York.

The prime minister made the statement while briefing media about the outcome of her just-concluded visit to the USA to attend the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

"We had a positive discussion on the Teesta water sharing issue," Hasina said during the briefing at her official residence Gonobhaban on Sunday morning.

The meeting between the two leaders was held at Hotel Waldrof Astoria in New York on September 24.

Sheikh Hasina also said the Indian premier appreciated the efforts of the bureaucrats of Bangladesh for their coordinated and sincere endeavours to execute the LBA.

The prime minister returned home on Saturday after wrapping up her eight-day official visit to the USA.
