The judiciary is now independent and the days of giving verdict, order and injunction getting influenced by phone calls have passed, Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha said.
The CJ made the remark while addressing the inauguration of Chittagong University’s Law Faculty yesterday.
Saying that US Congress has around 90% members with background in Law and the UK has around 80%, the CJ urged the students to come forward in establishing rule of law and democracy in the country.
