Three children have died in Asian Cardiac and General Hospital at Lalmatia in Dhaka.
The victims were identified as Afrin, 2, Kakoli, 2 days and 19 days old Shilpi.
The children died between 9pm Friday to 12am on Saturday, Mohammadpur OC Jamal Uddin Mir told the Dhaka Tribune.
During visiting the hospital, no doctor was found to serve patients. There was no official available in the hospital to talk to media.
Following the deaths, panic gripped the guardians of the patients. There were six patients till morning but later all guardians left the hospital with their patients. They have taken their children to different hospitals in the capital.
While talking to the Dhaka Tribune, Joya, a nurse of the hospital said: “The children died due to serious illness. The hospital authority is not responsible for the deaths as the hospital is well-equipped with necessary medical equipments and there are many physicians.”
During leaving the hospital, Ali Hossain, one of the parents of the patients, said they are taking their child to another hospital as they have learned that six children died in last four days in this hospital.
Police were deployed in the hospital to avert any untoward incident.
Till filing of this report at 5:10pm, no arrest was made in this connection, said the OC.
