At least four people were killed in road accident in two separate spots in Sirajganj yesterday.
Rashedul Islam Biswas, officer-in-chrage of Raiganj police station, said a passenger bus of Shamoli Paribahan coming from Joypurhat rammed into a pickup van leaving two people dead on the spot including the van driver. 15 people were also injured in the incident, our district correspondent reported.
Later, critically injured Munnaf Ara,26, a garments worker of Bogra died while she was being taken to hospital. The identity of one of the deceased could not be known.
On the other hand, Abu Bakar Siddique,55, son of Ahad Box of Alamdanga became critically injured while a passenger bus coming from Pabna ran over him in Paslia area, said Abdul Kader Zilani, officer-in-charge of Hatkumrul Highway police station.
He was sent to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital where he died.
The body was sent to the hospital morgue.
In Gazipur, two people were killed and three others injured as a covered ban and a bus overturned after a collision at Bhogra bypass intersection in the city in the morning.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Sub-inspector Bahar Alam of Nauroj highway police outpost said a collision took place between the Gazipur-bound bus and Konabari-bound covered van in the area around 6am.
A rickshaw puller and a pedestrian were crushed under the vehicles as after the collision the two vehicles overturned on the road, reports UNB.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital.
