The authorities have lifted the ban on tourists in Thanchi of Bandarban.
The restriction on tourists' movement in different spots at Thanchi was imposed from July 1 to September 30 due to potential risks during the monsoon.
"There will be no prohibition on the movement of tourists in Thanchi from Thursday," Deputy Commissioner Mizanul Haque said on Wednesday.
However, he suggested that the tourists take safety measures, especially life jackets, in case of touring in the waterways of Ruma and Thanchi areas as some of the spots are risky.
The ban came as the Sangu River saw swelling and raging waves on June 23 that disconnected the waterways of some tourist spots including Tindu and Remakri, and also turned the rocky routes slippery and risky.
