Bangladesh moves two notches up in competitiveness
Bangladesh has moved two notches forward to 107 among 140 countries in the world in Global Competitiveness Index. World Economic Forum prepared the report which was published in Bangladesh by the Forum’s local partner Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) at Brac Inn Centre on Wednesday morning.
PM calls for delivering means of implementation of SDGs
Terming this year's UNGA- adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)-2030 as a collective journey, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said the international community has to deliver on the means of implementation. Sheikh Hasina said, "For implementation of the SDGs, we will need scaled-up resources from all sources -- public and private, domestic and international. Thus, fulfillment of the 'ODA Targets' will be crucial from the beginning."
Australia Test players sent back to their states
Cricket Australia has directed Australia's Test squad to re-join their state squads for training as deliberations on the proposed tour of Bangladesh continue. The 15 players lead by Steve Smith was set to fly out on Monday morning for Bangladesh, but they delayed the tour due to security concern.

Snowden joins Twitter
Fugitive US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden has opened an account on the social network website Twitter. His opening tweet was: "Can you hear me now?" In his profile, Mr Snowden says he "used to work for the government. Now I work for the public". He quickly gathered thousands of followers.
