An accused of Chandraganj unit Sontrash Nirmul Committee president Omar Faruk murder case has been killed in a "gunfight" with police in Lakshmipur.
The deceased is Abdus Sattar Jaher alias Dhama Kala, 35.
Lakshmipur Assistant Police Super Junayed Kawsar said the "gunfight" took place at Latifpur village around 3am Wednesday.

He said: "Acting on a secret information that a group of robbers were preparing for robbery, police conducted raid at Latifpur village. As soon as police reached there, the robbers fired at the law enforcers forcing them to fire back."
Later, police recovered Dhama Kala's body from the spot. They also recovered one LG and four rounds of bullets.
Five police members were also injured during the "gunfight".
