Cattle markets in the capital saw a rise of cattle prices on Thursday compared to the prices of the previous day.
This reporter visited several markets in the capital including Gabtoli and Rayerbazar cattle markets on Thursday.
Sellers are demanding Tk115,000 for the cow which they were ready to sell at Tk90,000 on Wednesday in Gabtoli cattle market.
Mohammad Moslem Mia, who bought a cow for Tk155,000, said: "The price of this cow was Tk105,000 yesterday. I thought the price would reduce but I was wrong."
Trader Uzzal brought three cows at the market in the morning. All of his cows were sold out by the afternoon.
"Cattle prices are higher than the previous year. But our costs also increased. That's why we are demanding high prices," Uzzal said.
City markets also witnessed a rise in the number of buyers on Thursday as the Eid-ul-Azha is knocking at the door.
