Four people have been killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw near Shamolipara bus stand under Ullapara upazila in Sirajganj.
The deceased are Bachchu Sheikh, 30, Alamgir Hossain, 25, Biplob Hossain and Fulchad Promanik, 40.
Ullapara OC AZM Tajul Huda said: “A Pabna-bound onion-laden truck collided head on with a auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction on Monday night. Seven people were critically injured in the accident.”
He said the locals took them to a local clinic at night. Later, they died when shifted to Sirajganj sadar hospital at midnight.
Hatikumrul highway police station OC Abdul Kader said they have seized the truck and detained its driver Mudhu Biswas soon after the accident.
