Shahin Badar’s new single is out

Award winning singer-songwriter and quadruple platinum disc recipient Shahin Badar, whose talented vocals became a global hit with dance giants The Prodigy and Oscar winner AR Rahman (in Yuva and Zubeida), has released her very first devotional single Salaam, alternatively called Peace, with Times Music.

In the song, the lyrics expresses the singer’s deep devotedness to god. The entire song seems a journey towards faith, could be termed as a global message of mercy and peace.

Salaam is now available for downloads on online music platforms including iTunes and Spotify.

Inspired by her mother and encouraged by her music trainers, Badar developed a blend of Arabic and Indian vocals, and she is practiced in performing English, Arabic, Hindi and Bengali songs.

Her vocals have been featured on many mainstream dance tracks and have been a part of the film and television circuit. It was even featured on the acclaimed British comedy film sitcom Magnificent 11. Her collaborations also include the likes of AR Rahman, Indian Ropeman, Noise Control, Doug Laurent, Kaya Project, Gio Makyo, Jah Wobble, FX, Fraser T Smith, Twista, Juliet Lewis and many others.

She featured in more than 30 Hollywood and Bollywood ventures including Closer, Charlie’s Angels and Shyam Bengal’s Zubeidaa.
