The light to moderate rainfall that started from Saturday is likely to continue in next couple of days, say Met officials.
The current rainfall is the result of a depression formed over central bay and its adjoining area for last three days.
However, the overall situation caused by the incessant shower is not severe like the previous days except some gridlocks in different areas of the capital.
The Met office Sunday recorded 18mm rainfall in Dhaka city from 6am to 12pm while the highest rainfall 51mm occurred in Chnadpur during the same period.
At the same time, the met office said that heavy rainfall may occur at different places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittgong divisions in next 48 hours.
The rainfall in this time of year while the monsoon is one the way to depart is not completely unusual as it has been happened once in every 10 to 15 years, added the officials.
Meanwhile, the met office advised the country's all maritime ports-- Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra-- to hoist local cautionary signal three.

It also asked the fishing boats and trawlers over north bay to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
Usually June 15 to September 15 is being considered as monsoon in Bangladesh.
Regarding this year, the met official said that this year the monsoon rainfall is being occurred 60% more than average and the current spell of rainfall might be the same nature.
