Pvt varsity students stage protests in Dhanmondi

The students of several private universities located in Dhanmondi area are staging protests on Dhanmondi road condemning the attack on East West University students and demanding withdrawal of VAT imposed on educational institutions.

Around 300 students of private universities brought out protest rallies on Thursday morning.

The students from University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, United International University, Asia Pacific University and Stamford University have taken position in different areas.

Farhan Habib, a student of ULAB, said students of other private universities will join the movement.

The students of ULAB, Northern and Asia Pacific Universities have blocked Dhanmondi 9/A road.

At least 23 students and the deputy registrar of East West University were injured when the police opened fire and charged truncheons during their demonstration in Rampura on Wednesday.
