Members of Rapid Action Battalion rescued a schoolteacher and detained four alleged kidnappers from Atghola area under Shingra Upazila in Natore district yesterday afternoon.
RAB sources said Mosharraf Hossain, 41, Bulu Akanda, 56, Shah Alam, 25, and Abdur Rajjaque, 40, kidnapped Emdadul Haque, 55, headmaster of Chhatari High School under Bagha upazila of Rajshahi and later demanded Tk10 lakh, as ransom from his family members.
On a tip-off, a team of the RAB raided a house in the area and rescued Emdadul Haque who was tied with chain. The team also arrested the four kidnappers from the area.
A case was filedd and the arrested persons were handed over to police, said Rab-5 Sub-Inspector Shafikul Islam.
