Abducted teacher rescued after 11 days in Rajshahi

Members of Rapid Action Battalion have rescued the headmaster of a high school 11 days after his abduction from Singra area in Natore.

Emdadul Haque is the headmaster of Chhatari High School in Rajshahi.

He was recovered from Singra on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, RAB officials arrested four abductors --Mosharrrof, Bulu Akhanda, Shah Alam and Abdur Razzaque-- from the spot.

In the press briefing, RAB 5 Sub-Inspector Shafikul Islam said: “Mosharraf called Emdadul to meet in order to give back his money on August 29. Later, Mosharraf along with his accomplices adducted Emdadul and took him to Singra.”

He said: “Emdadul's relatives filed a complaint after abductors demanded Tk10 lakh as ransom and threatened with to kill him if they did not pay the ransom amount.

“Acting on a tip off, we conducted a drive in the areas and rescued him on Tuesday.”
