Although Nusraat Faria is yet to release her big screen debut, her acting career may have just taken a quantum leap as she readies herself to share the big screen with Emraan Hashmi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in her Bollywood debut.
Bishnu Dutta’s directorial venture, titled Gawah-The Witness, Nusraat Faria will be playing the lead with Emraan Hashmi, sharing the screen with screen sensation Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Paayel Sarkar, another Bengali actress from Kolkata, will be playing Siddiqui’s wife.
An excited Nusraat Faria shared the news on her Facebook profile stating, “My birthday morning can’t be better than this when you see the news by Calcutta Times on your upcoming project.” The news first came out yesterday on the actress’ 22th birthday on the Calcutta Times where she said, “I liked the script and my character, but I am yet to sign on the dotted line. My role is pivotal to the plot and we have to do a look test for that.”
In the film, Emraan Hashmi plays a CBI officer who quits his job after an accident and starts working as a private detective. Nawazuddin plays a business honcho and Paayel, his wife, thinks every girl is better looking than her while her husband struggles to handle her tantrums.
The director does not disclose much about Nusraat’s character at this stage but he reveals that “it has shades of grey.”
Apoorva Joseph, the casting director of Nusraat’s debut film Ashiqui, helped her and Paayel Sarkar the role. The shooting for the film will take place in Kolkata and Pune towards the end of October.
