Police held 11 members of a robbers' gang from different parts of Narayanganj, Munshiganj and Narsingdi districts in a drive on Monday night.
Two of the arrested carried press ID cards that they used for dodging police after conducting any crime, said law enforcers at a press conference held in Narayanganj Tuesday.
The arrested were accused in a number of cases for crimes including murder.
Police seized a trawler, five machetes, three knives, one cutter and three crude bombs from their possession.
Two of the arrested robbers, Masud and Hossain Miya, carried the ID cards of Bangladesh Press Institute and Dainik Desh newspaper respectively.
Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police Mokhlesur Rahman said Sonargaon police station Sub-Inspector Abdul Hoque Sikder and Assistant Sub-Inspector Abul Kalam Azad led the drive.
