Children matured enough to start school, should not undergo formal entrance test with printed question paper, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said.
She said: “Children old enough to join schools should get immediate admission and there is no necessity of arranging formal admission test with printed question paper.”
The prime minister made the suggestion while addressing the inaugural function of the International Literacy Day 2015 at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital Tuesday, reported the BSS.
“Make necessary arrangement so that the children could get scope for admission to the schools of their respective areas directly,” she told the authorities concerned.
Underscoring the need for having area-based schools, she directed the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education to repair and improve the conditions of the countrywide primary schools.
She also suggested ensuring arrangement for accommodation at the schools located in the hilly and char areas.
