Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to visit Khulna Sunday on a day-long visit on the occasion of commissioning and induction of new ships in Bangladesh Navy (BN).
It will be her first visit to Khulna after the Awami League government took office for the second consecutive term with an overwhelming victory in the last general elections held on January 5, 2014. Sheikh Hasina last visited Khulna on January 24 in 2013.
The PM is set to go to Mongla from Dhaka to join the commissioning function of three BN Ships -- KJ Ali, Sandwip and Hatia --, PM's Press Wing sources told the BSS.
She will also attend the induction ceremony of two landing craft tanks -- LCT-103 and LCT-105 -- there.
Later, Sheikh Hasina will visit Khulna Shipyard to inaugurate the keel-laying of two large patrol craft, and a container vessel, Nou Kalyan-1.
The PM is scheduled to return to the capital in the afternoon.
