Railway communication of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet has been resumed after two hours of suspension due to the derailment of five bogies of a container train in Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria district.
Akhaura railway police station OC Abdus Sattar said train service resumed on the routes around 1:15pm Thursday.
The bogies of a Dhaka-bound train veered off the tracks around 10:45am Thursday.
Later, a relief train reached the spot and cleared the line.
