Foreign Ministry Director General Ashud Ahmed has been appointed as the new ambassador to Qatar.
“He received approval this week from Qatar and is going to assume his duty very soon,” said a Foreign Ministry official.
Ashud is to replace Syed Masud Mahmood Khundoker, who has been recalled recently.
At present, he is serving as the head of the Southeast Asia wing of the ministry.
A career diplomat, Ashud Ahmed was a consul general of Hong Kong.
