A Jubo League leader has been stabbed to death allegedly by rival group during a meeting to observe the National Mourning Day at Kaliakoir in Gazipur.
Deceased Rafiqul Islam, 43, was former president of Kaliakoir Jubo League.
Witnesses said a group of men equipped with iron rods, sticks and machetes attacked Rafiqul when he was sitting at a tea stall beside Bangabandhu College around 6pm Friday.
Critically injured Rafiqul was rushed to Kaliakoir Upazila Heath Complex where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Kaliakoir police station OC Omar Faruk said none was arrested in connection with the murder.
