Two RAB men injured in crude bomb blast

Two RAB members have reportedly been injured in a crude bomb attack at Ramchandrapur market area under Chapainawabganj  Sadar Upazila.

Habilder Ganesh and ASI Imran were injured in the blast when they went on a drive to catch the accused in a local Awami League activist murder case around 5pm on Thursday.

Habilder Ganesh was released after giving primary aid and ASI Imran was transferred to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, said doctor Mostafa Sanaul Haque of Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital's emergency unit.

Assistant Director Ashiqur Rahman of RAB 5 Chapainawapganj camp said: "Acting on a tip-off that the accused of the murder of the local Awami league activist Arju were in Ramchandrapur market area, RAB launched a drive to catch them.

"As soon as the RAB team arrived at the scene, crude bombs were exploded that left the two RAB members wounded with the splinter of the crude bombs."

Rivals hacked local Awami League activist Azizul Haque Arju to death in 2014. A case was filed over the murder.
