The state authorities have adopted an initiative to facilitate the city dwellers through an integrated transport ticketing system.
According the new system the commuters can use a digital card for paying fare of vehicle to travel in the capital and the adjacent areas. The same card will be usable for BRTC bus, metro rail, bus rapid transit and other privet transports if the private companies agree with the government.
A clearing house authority on daily basis will end the transaction among the parties, for which the government has already set a project steering committee.
Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary MAN Siddique is chairman of the committee that’s meeting will be held on August 18 in the Secretariat.
MAN Siddique told the Dhaka Tribune that the digital card will be global standard and highly secured.
