Kazi Nabil: Bangabandhu never bowed to injustice

Awami League Lawmaker Kazi Nabil Ahmed has said Bangabandhu never bowed before any act of injustice even after being jailed for 13 years.

He said: “He sacrificed his own happiness for freedom of the Nation. However, he never compromised with any evil force.”

The Jessore lawmaker made the remarks while addressing a public rally in the district Friday, marking the 40th death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He urged all to strengthen Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's efforts to turn Bangladesh into a hunger- and poverty-free Sonar Bangla as dreamt by her father.

Kazi Nabil also commemorated Bangabandhu's lifelong struggles to free the nation from hundred years of slavery.

Referring to the brutal killing of Bangabandhu along with many of his family members, he said: “It is unfortunate that a leader like Bangabandhu, who struggle hard for the welfare of the nation, was killed by the conspirators.”

The MP called upon all countrymen to work unitedly for attaining the vision 2021.

“Our sorrow shall be turned into a great motivating force,” he added.
