War crimes suspects among 6 hurt in Gazipur collision

Four policemen and two war crimes accused have received injuries when a police van collided head-on with a bus on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway.

Of the injured, the war crimes accused are Amjad Hossain, 88, Riaz Fakir, 65. Both the accused were arrested from Mymensingh's Phulbaria area on Tuesday night.

The injured policemen are Constables Mehedi and Wasim, Habildar Nooruddin and Naik Mostafizur.

Hotapara police outpost In-Charge SI Azharul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune: “The Dhaka-bound police-van from Mymensingh, carrying the war crimes accused, collided head-on with a bus around 8:30am Wednesday, leaving four police members and two war crimes accused injured.”

Tongi police station OC Mohammad Ali said: “Of the injured, accused Amjad and Constable Mehedi were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their condition was stated to be critical.”
