Imran criticizes IGP’s remarks

Imran H Sarker, spokesperson of Gonojagoron Moncho, has criticized Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque for his remarks where he requested bloggers not to "cross the limit".

“IGP’s offensive remarks are patronizing and encouraging bloggers’ killers and militant forces passively which would create more violent atmosphere in the country”, said Imran on Tuesday.

Imran made this comment while addressing a protest rally held at Shahabag ‘Projonmo Chattor’ in the afternoon protesting the killing of Niloy Neel.

On Sunday, AKM Shahidul Hoque said free-thinking writers and bloggers should not ‘cross the limit of tolerance’ while expressing views and criticizing religion.

“Those extremists who are killing bloggers in the name of religions are not pure men because Islam doesn’t allow killing people in the name of religion” He added.

He also said that extremists will attack bombs on mosques, schools, mandir, madrasa and colleges after the end of killing the free thinkers as like as Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Imran urged all to raise voice against killers and militant forces.

After the protest rally, leaders and activists of Moncho brought out a mass demonstration procession from Shahbag which marched towards Dhaka University area in the evening.
