The government would bear all the expenses of medical treatment to the injured mother and her bullet-hit new-born baby, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim has said.
The minister said this while he paid a visit to the bullet-wound child and her mother at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday, reports BSS.
During visit, the minister instructed the attending doctors to extend proper medical treatment to them.
Nasim said stern action would be taken against those involved in wounding child by gunshot in mother's womb in Magura.
"By this time, six persons allegedly involved in the incident have been arrested at the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Those who were arrested would be brought under proper justice," said the minister.
Nazma Khatun, the pregnant mother, suffered bullet wounds in a cross- fire between two gangs of terrorists at Doarpar area in Magura town on July 23.
On that night, the baby with bullet wounds was born as her mother was operated upon at Magura Sadar Hospital. Seriously injured new-born was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment on July 25.
