A man has been killed as a free fell on him during a storm at Saint Martin under Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar.
The deceased is Mohammad Islam, 45, son of late Md Ali of Poshchimpara area in Saint Martin.
Saint Martin UP Chairman Nurul Amin said: “The intense weather condition took the form of a storm due to the depression in the Bay of Bengal on Thursday morning. During the storm, a coconut tree fell on Mohammad in the early hours of the day.”

Teknaf OC Ataur Rahman said: “Over hundred houses and trees were destroyed in the storm.”
Cox's Bazar Weather Forecast Office assistant meteorologist AKM Nazmul Hoque said: “The Cyclonic Storm Komen is heading towards the coastal area rapidly.”
Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Dr Anupom Saha said the people of the coastal area have been moved to safe location.
