Committee formed to ease waterlogging

A three-member committee has been formed with experts and professionals from  Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to solve the waterlogging problem of the capital.

The committee was formed following a meeting held between DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon and experts from the three bodies at Dhaka Nagar Bhaban yesterday.

The DSCC mayor held the meeting with experts to find out possible ways to solve the waterlogging issue.

To find out the reasons behind waterlogging and chalk out their possible solutions, the experts formed the committee with IAB President Dr Abu Sayed, Dhaka Wasa Engineer Md Abul Kashem and DSCC Chief Engineer Md Habibur Rahman. The committee is due to submit its report within a month, said a press release.

Khokon said the problems of the city can be solved if architects, urban planners, and engineers work together. DSCC Chief Executive Officer Md Ansar Ali Khan was present at the meeting, among others.
