Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has shot dead a Bangladeshi cattle trader on Adatala border under Shapahar upazila in the district of Naogaon.
The trader was identified as Ziaur Rahman, 35, son of Motiur Rahman of South Patari village under the same upazila, reports BSS.
Commanding officer of BGB-14 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Hasan confirmed the killing incident.
The BGB sources said the BSF men of Rangamati camp opened fire on some cattle traders while they were returning to Bangladesh through 242 no border pillar at the village at about 5am on Monday, leaving Ziaur dead on the spot.
After the incident, the BSF men took away his body to India.
The BGB sent a letter to its Indian counterpart, protesting the incident and asked to return the body, the BGB official said.
