Baby Moudud’s first death anniversary today

The first death anniversary of journalist and writer Baby Moudud will be observed today.

On the occasion, Sangbadik Samaj organised a commemorative meeting at the National Press Club recalling her contributions to journalism yesterday.

Baby Moudud, a former lawmaker of the ruling Awami League and one of the organisers of Women Rights Movement died of cancer at the age of 66. She was born in Kolkata on June 23, 1948. Her father Abdul Moudud was a Justice. Baby was third among her six brothers and three sisters.

To mark her death anniversary, milad and doa mahfil will be held after Asr prayers today, her family sources said.

Beginning her career as a journalist in 1967, Baby Moudud served as the head of Bangla Service of BSS and the acting editor of Saptahik Bichitra.
