Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (REB) has given electricity connections to 238 subscribers in Mohishdanga village under Satkhira’s Ashashuni upazila including Soumya Sarkar, an allrounder and a top-order batsman of Bangladesh cricket team.
The task was done on July 14, upon the completion of construction of a two-kilometre electricity line in the area following the order of REB chairman, said a press release.
Health Minister AFM Ruhal Haque, former MP Monsur Ahmed, Satkhira District Administrator Nazmul Ahsan, Ashashuni Upazila Nirbahi Officer Momtaj Begum were present at the inauguration. Power connection was also given to the house of Mostafizur Rahman, a Bangladeshi left-arm fast bowler, in Tetulia village under Kaliganj upazila of the same district two months back, the release said.
