The 3rd batch of 155 Bangladesh nationals has been repatriated from Myanmar by land on Wednesday.

The repatriation process took place at 10:30am at Ghundum border point in Naikhyongchhari upazila of Bandarban district.

The present group is from the victims of recent human trafficking by sea in the Indian Ocean region, according to a Foreign Ministry handout.

They were earlier rescued in a group of 528 people from sea in Myanmar waters.

The repatriation process is a clear manifestation of Bangladesh's commitment and seriousness in carrying out the repatriation of the verified Bangladeshis within the shortest possible time.

With this group, the total number of repatriated Bangladesh nationals from Myanmar stands at 342.

The entire repatriation process was overseen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by maintaining close coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bangladesh Boarder Guard (BGB), local police authority and local district administration.
