A 10-member team of Bangladesh Border Guard has gone Myanmar in order to bring back the 155 Bangladeshi nationals, who were rescued by Myanmar Navy on May 29.
The BGB team led by BGB-17 Commanding Officer Lt Col Md Rabiul Islam left for Bekubunia BGP camp on Wednesday morning for holding a flag meeting.
Before leaving Bangladesh, the BGB official told the Dhaka Tribune: “Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Guard Police (BGP) will begin the meet around 11:00am in Maungdaw of Myanmar.
“After the meeting, we will bring the 155 Bangladeshi people rescued from the sea back home.”
On May 29,Myanmar Navy rescued 727 human trafficking victims from Myanmar's sea territory.
Later, they sent a list of 528 people who intended to return to Bangladesh to the Bangladesh authorities.
After verifying their identities, the Bangladesh government decided to bring 155 nationals back home.
