Police have been planning to coordinate the different private security company members to ensure foolproof safety in the capital during the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation.
“We have already contacted with different private security company authorities. Police and the firms’ security staffs will work together and then it is possible to ensure allout security,” said Monirul Islam, Joint Commissioner of Detective Branch of Police, yesterday.
Monirul continued that nearly one crore people would leave the capital during Eid to celebrate the festival with their kith and kin leaving the residences, markets and offices vacant.
“Police have already taken necessary initiatives for security on the days and contacting with the private companies is as a part of the move,” says Monirul, also spokesperson of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
DB Police Chief Monirul went on that special security system would be enforced since the day before Eid and police would be active in line with the local security officials. As a part of area-based security, they have already divided the police outposts, boxes and stations and it will continue as long as the situation demands.
“Besides, we have already improved the Close Circuit Camera Television (CCTV) surveillance through repairing and checking the damaged cameras. We hope of ensuring a secured Eid for the city dwellers,” opined the DB chief.
