Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) has decided to procure a total of 1,32,577 SPC (Spun Pre-stressed Concrete) poles, transformers and conductors from nine private firms with cost of over Tk363 crore.
According to an official of Power Division, the SPC poles, distribution transformers and conductors will be purchased under the Rural Electrification Expansion Program II Project for Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Rangpur and Sylhet divisions.
Rural Electrification Expansion Project, which was started in the six divisions last year, will come to an end in June 2018.
After completion of the project, a total of 2,50,000 consumers will get electricity connection by Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB).
To get prior consent, Power Division will place nine BREB proposals before the cabinet committee on public purchase to be held next week with Finance Minister AMA Muhith in the chair.
According to the “Rural Electrification Expansion Chittagong-Sylhet Division Program II” proposal, Techno Venture Limited, Dhaka was shortlisted for supply of 4190 distribution transformers with a cost of Tk34.59 crore.
Electropac Industries Ltd will support the work by providing 30,000 SPC Poles at a cost of over Tk62 crore while TSCO Power Ltd will supply 29,162 SPC Poles at a cost of around Tk62 crore.
Dada Engineering Ltd will provide 26,423 SPC Poles at a cost of over Tk55 crore while Royal Green Product Ltd will provide 26,423 SPC Poles at a cost of over Tk55 croreunder the “Rural Electrification Expansion Dhaka Division Program II” project.
Gemcon Ltd will provide 22,426 SPC Poles at a cost of more than Tk46 crore while Contech Construction Ltd, Dhaka will provide 22,426 SPC Poles at a cost of over Tk46crore under the “Rural Electrification Expansion Rajshahi-Rangpur Division Program II” project.
SBS Cables Ltd, Dhaka will provide conductors, ACSR and Bares for the construction of 7,375 kilometersline at a cost of over Tk51 crore under project of “Rural Electrification Expansion Chittagong- Sylhet Division Program II” project.
Under the “Rural Electrification Expansion Khulna Division Program II” project, M/S Charka SPC Poles Ltd, Dhaka will provide 9,521 SPC Poles at a cost of around Tk20 crore while M/s Poles and Concrete Ltd, Dhaka will provide the same amount of SPC Poleswith a cost of around Tk20 crore while M/s Contech Construction Ltd, Dhaka will provide the same amount of materials, costing around Tk20 crore.
