The police have arrested a member of Crack Platoon (CP Gang), a pro-government online platform, in a case filed for making offensive Facebook posts.
Arup Ratan Pal, 27, was picked up by a joint team of Rampura and Charghat police from the capital's Rampura area around 5am Tuesday.
SI Khairul Islam of Charghat police station in Rajshahi, also the IO of the case, said: “One Tapash Sarker filed the case, alleging that the Facebook page, CP Gang, has harassed him by making offensive and false posts.
“We picked Arup up as he is the admin of the Facebook page.”
Later, the arrestee was taken to Rajshahi from the capital in the morning.
“He will be placed before a district court with five-day remand plea,” added the SI.
The case was filed under ICT Act on May 24.
