Theater group Batighar is going to stage the third show of the play Urnajal at the Experimental Theatre Hall in the capital's Shilpakala Academy at 7:30pm Friday.
Nikul Kumar Mondol, who is performing in a lead role in the play, told the Dhaka Tribune that the play focus on the misuse of religion.
"There are few people in our society who always misguide people in the name of religion in order to make personal gain in terms of power, money and wealth. We tried to represent that message through the play," Nikul said.
Bakar Bakul scripted and directed the play, while music was directed by Rabiul Islam Shashi and stage to be managed by Shahana Joy.
Indrani Ghatak, Sanjay Goswami, Sanjay Halder, Moniruzzaman Lipon were among the casts of the play.
About his role, Nikul said it was a bit challenging to take up the role at the beginning, but with the encouragement and direction of Bakar Bakul, I made it.
The previous performances of the play gain acclamations of the spectators, which made me more confident, he added.
