Bailey bridge collapses in Bogra, road link among 3 upazilas suspended

Three members of a family were injured in the accident on Wednesday. Witnesses said the bridge had caved in when the driver of a cement-laden truck lost control over the steering and fell in the ditch while overtaking a speedy motorcycle around 9am on the day. Three members of a family, who were on the motorcycle, fell in the water and sustained injuries. Later, locals rescued them and sent to a hospital. Locals urged concerned authorities to repair the bridge as soon as possible to ease their sufferings due to the communication halt. Assistant Commissioner of Gabtali upazila (land) said they had already asked Roads and Highway Department to repair the bridge without any delay.
