BGB delegation in Myanmar over Razzak’s return

A seven-member delegation of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has reached in Mongdu of Myanmar to hold a flag meeting on bringing back BGB man Abdur Razzak who was abducted by the members of Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP).

2 militants held with explosives in capital 

A team of Detective Branch (DB) of Police has detained two suspected militants with explosives from the capital's Mohammadpur area. DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner Jahangir Alam Sarkar confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.

3 suspected robbers lynched in Faridpur 

Three suspected robbers have been beaten to death by angry mob in Bodpur village in Faridpur district. The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained yet. The suspected robbers were held and beaten to death around 12:30am Thursday, Faridpur Kotwali Sub-Inspector Moniruzzaman told the Dhaka Tribune.

Zaheer Abbas made ICC president 

Former Pakistan captain Zaheer Abbas has assumed the role of the International Cricket Council president. He was made the chief on the third day of the ICC Annual Conference week in Barbados on Wednesday, said a press release issued by the ICC.

Pakistan heatwave deaths over 800 

The death toll from a heatwave in Pakistan's southern Sindh province has passed 800, hospital officials say, as mortuaries reached capacity. At least 780 people have died in Karachi, BBC Urdu reported. Another 30 deaths were reported elsewhere in the province, state owned PTV said.
