10 injured in Brahmanbaria clash

Ten people have been injured in a clash between a shopkeeper and customer of trifling matter at Bhadughor in Brahmanbaria municipal area.

The injured could not be identified immediately.

Witness said one Al Amin Mia of the area went to buy cigarettes from Jaffar Mia's shop on Saturday night. He locked into a quarrel with shopkeeper Jaffar when he refused to give to Al Amin cigarettes on credit.

Following the matter, Al Amin's supporter attacked Jaffar shop and house around 10:30am Sunday. Jaffar's supporter attacked back that lead to the clash which left 10 people injured.

Five houses and some shops were looted during the clash.

Brahmanbaria Sub-Inspector Abul Khayer said: “Police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. Additional police have been deployed in the area to avoid furthur untoward situation.”
