A state-run oil tanker of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation has caught fire at Dry Dock Limited in Chittagong city’s Patenga area.
No causality, however, was reported in this connection.
Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters in Agrabad’s Assistant Director (AD) Mohammed Iyahia said a fire ignited from the engine room of the vessel named Banglar Sowraf at around 4.40pm on Wednesday while mechanics were fixing the technical problem and spared the room, gutting valuables worth Tk5,000.
Being informed, a fire service unit from CEPZ station rushed to the spot and doused the flames after an hour.
