Both Bangladesh and India should be given benefit of doubt because the diplomacy is a long game, Dhaka Tribune Editor Zafar Sobhan has said.
Zafar Sobhan made the observation while talking to a television channel over the much-talked-about Teesta deal issue.
ATN news invited Zafar, the editor of the popular English daily, in a conversation entitled “News Now” on Sunday afternoon.
He said: “We have to look forward, because the issue would take time to resolve, as things don't settle within one or two days.”
“Also Modi has said he was confident that with the support of state governments in India, the two countries could reach a fair solution on Teesta and Feni Rivers,” he cited.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now in Dhaka on a two-day official visit.
